Although we will conduct informal evaluations during open gyms/clinics and may provide verbal-written offers players are encouraged to attend tryouts the week of 7/15/2024 for an in depth evaluation. Team placement and contract commitments cannot be provided until 7/22 for returning players and 7/23 for new players.

RMR requires all athletes must have an active RMR membership to tryout. If you are not an active RMR member, you may obtain a tryout membership later in June. (Once the RMR Tryout Membership is live a link will be placed, here.)

Things needed for tryouts:

• Birth Certificate - Copy
• RMR USAV Player  ID - Copy (If you are unsure how to obtain your id # follow the steps in this Sportsengine article to find your membership id
• Completed Medical Release Form. Obtain medical release form here.

Tryout Details:

Each athlete should plan to attend two sessions. The first session is for a skills evaluation and the second session is for matchplay. 

How to choose tryout session?

Players should plan to attend the session appropriate for their RMR designated age as well as grade. (E.G. Question: My child is 14 but will be a Freshman this year, should she attend the 14's or 15's session? 

Answer: Please choose the 15's session because a majority of those athletes will be a Freshman in high-school.)

Please plan on attending the session based on your age group as designated by RMR (see age designation table, below.)

18U*: Players who are born on or after July 1, 2005 and a highschool student in the 12th grade or below during some part of the current academic year are eligible to compete in 18.

18U**: Players who are born on or after July 1, 2005 (who are defined as 18U by USAV Age Definition) and are in the 11th grade for the current academic year are waivered to complete in 17U.

TRYOUT FEE IS $45 AND IS NON-REFUNDABLE. 

Players must attend at least one of the tryout dates listed below. Players may attend multiple days and only pay one registration fee.

july 15-18th Tryout Location:

ALL TRYOUTS WILL BE HELD AT HIGHLAND HILLS SPORTSCENTER, WESTMINSTER (4201 W. 94th Avenue
Westminster, CO 80031). PLAYERS WILL BE EVALUATED IN TWO SESSIONS. ATHLETES WILL ATTEND FIRST SESSION BASED ON AGE. PLAYERS WILL BE EVALUATED DURING A SECONDARY MATCH PLAY SESSION BASED ON SKILL RANKINGS FROM THE FIRST SESSION. PLAYERS SHOULD PLAN TO ATTEND THE MATCHPLAY SESSION FOR THEIR AGE GROUP UNLESS SPECIFIED OTHERWISE.

This tryout session will be for both CYL (Club Youth League) as well as for the USAV club season. We will conduct skill evaluation as well as complete matchplay.

What is CYL?

CYL stands for the Club Youth League.  The CYL was created for players that are entering 6th thru 8th grade, it is intended to introduce young girls to competitive volleyball and allows experienced players to continue their individual growth in the sport.

 

July Tryouts Announced:

Players should plan to attend both tryout dates. Given the current skill level the tryouts will be a combination of skill overview followed by assessment. The tryouts will be in Wheat Ridge.

Session One:  Tuesday - 7/19 5:30 - 7:30 PM at ABC (A Brighter Community 9701 W 50th Avenue)

Session Two: Friday - 7/22 6:00 - 8:00 PM Anderson Facility (4355 Field St)
